Halo Browser is an Android web browser that emphasizes fast, ad-free browsing.

On mobile devices, ads are not just an inconvenience but a real problem that can slow page loads to a crawl, break webpages and use data unnecessarily. Ad-blocking software for mobile isn’t always user-friendly, so there’s a new breed of browser that integrates this functionality. Halo Browser is one of those options but it does a lot more than just block ads.

Halo has everything you’d expect from a modern browser on your mobile device, but what sets it apart is that it emphasizes speed above all else. This is important for a number of reasons, including that mobile browsing isn’t inherently fast. Blocking ads helps speed things up. A no-images mode speeds things up even more and lets you read the Web more like a book or newspaper. The browser also features a Speed Mode, which can make things even faster and help to use even less data.

You’ll be able to bookmark webpages, mark sites and services as favorites and even review your browsing history. Your history and other Internet footprints can be cleared manually or automatically when the program closes. There’s also an incognito mode that lets you browse without leaving a trail at all.

Halo Browser is a relatively new addition to the browser scene. The browser is quite stable and loaded with features, but to call it polished wouldn’t be accurate. There are still some rough edges and updates haven’t been as fast as some users would like. Nevertheless, if you can deal with these issues, then this is a superb browser option that will likely only get better as time goes on.
